I'm gonna do my best to keep my hype in check until they do. If they do end up doing an AoE4 show match or even just show a Mongols trailer they'll almost certainly announce it or at least hint at it ahead of time. I think a Mongol campaign trailer is possible but would likely be shown in addition to high level gameplay if it does make an appearance.Īnd of course the OP provides some reasonable historical evidence that there could be an open beta that begins late September which might plausibly be announced at the event. Thanks to the feedback, the patch 5.4 is completely stable. This would obviously be less exciting and would be a slightly odd choice for showing at a high level tournament and wouldn't explain Aussie's apparent involvement. By participating the Open Beta, players can give their feedback based on what they experience, letting the devs know about any possible issue. There's also one campaign trailer (Mongols) they haven't released yet which could make an appearance. And Aussie seems to play AoE4 at a relatively high level (he posted lots of good content on the closed forum), has experience casting high level AoE3 matches, and is a major AoE3 content creator so it seems like it'd be pretty natural to have him play in or cast an AoE4 show match. Red Bull Wololo does seem like a very natural place to show off Age 4 competitive gameplay as other have pointed out. I'm not an AoE3 player so I don't really follow Aussie but it seems a bit strange for an AoE3 content creator to by hyping an AoE2 tournament in a post discussing a new rig he just built for AoE4. Probably because its a bit of a duplicate. A list of as-yet-undisclosed civilizations has also leaked online. Fun fact: in ageofempires and aoe2 sub it kept there, only in this aoe4 sub it got deleted, even beeing after die discord news. Someone on the official forum also pointed out this suggestive post from Aussie on Youtube which ends with the sentence "More content coming soon, and be sure to keep an eye out on Red Bull Wololo 5 )". An entry in the Korean age rating agencys database suggests that Microsoft may be preparing an open beta of Age of Empires 4.
